When making the decision to quit gambling, many look for resources and supports to help with their recovery. Some supports may consist of individual and private counselling, meeting with a gambling counsellor, or self-help groups including 12 Step based such as Gamblers Anonymous. What are self-help groups? They are groups that share a common goal and offer practical help and support all while providing emotional support.

Not all 12 Step groups and meetings are the same. It can sometimes take a few times to find the right group that works for you. 12 Step groups such as Gamblers Anonymous (GA) may not be for everyone, but it can be a great resource if your find yourself struggling and need that extra support.
